| Authenticating Users Against Active Directory DataTrack System 3.5 Coupled with the optional Active Directory Integration (ADI) plugin, the DataTrack Server can authenticate users, as they login to either the Web Client or Desktop Client, against your Active Directory. Active Directory authentication is a per-account setting, and requires that the DataTrack Active Directory Integration plugin be installed and running on the DataTrack Server. Via the Desktop Client You can use the DataTrack Desktop Client to enable Active Directory authentication for a given user. While logged in with the DataTrack Desktop Client, open or create a new user. Click the Active Directory Authentication tab from the bottom portion of the user form. Under Active Directory Authentication, check Authenticate against Active Directory. Via the Server You can use the DataTrack Server to enable Active Directory authentication for a given user. From the left task panel of the DataTrack Server, click Configure Users. In the center users listing, select the user who you would like to have authenticate against Active Directory, and then click Edit User from the right. In the Edit User window, under Security, check Authenticate against Active Directory, and then click Save. Tip: You can use the batch-edit tool found on the Desktop Client to apply Active Directory authentication to all existing users at once.
