This is a great site... There is so much to choose from, but i was hoping that maybe some of you could help me narrow it down. I'm looking for a self serve, web based helpdesk that has an auto inventory function that comes with it. I see alot of things about asset managers, but i'm looking for something that will do a software and hardware inventory of my LAN. I'm on the verge of buying "Track It" but it's very expensive. Does anyone recommend a different alternitive? Thanks in advance and great job on the site!

Have you looked at Applied Innovation Management's system? it's 100% web based and we do not license the end users and also when it comes to the PC auto inventory we do it using Microsoft's WMI to capture the data and store it in a database. We do not charge per node or station like others. Check out the information on http://www.helpdesk-expert-it-support.com/
