Date Validation Quote | Reply

Hello,

I am using JSP and Oracle. I have a page with couple of other
fields I have two date fields as well ie. Date From and Date To. I need to add a validation based for From Date and To Date. If dates are already entered in database for that particular user, it should not overlap, for example from 01-Mar-2004 to 10-Mar-2004 existing in database, the user should not be able to enter date for that particular period. Even in database From Date and To Date are 2 fields.

How can I do this efficiently and how to write the query to validate existing date fields.

I am a novice and please help me. Any help is highly appreciable.

Thanks in advance

Jaco

Yes this is possible. You can edit the field in the database editor and use a regular expression to check for input validation. You may also need to edit the perl code to translate your format into the standard SQL date/time format.
