Does IncidentMonitor have the ability to accept an inboud XML message in order to create a request? I have an SNMP console application that can send XML messages whenever situations in our network occur. Anytime an SNMP trap occurs for certain items I want to be able to create a service request that is automatically routed to one of our support team members via their cell phone, pager, E-mail or wireless PDA.

Is this possible with IncidentMonitor?

Thanks

There are a bunch of ways that you can accomplish your stated objectives.

IncidentMonitor supports XML ticket creation right out of the box. All you need to do is setup a project on the IncidentMonitor system, create a user account and grant sufficient access to the user account. Once this is done, when an SNMP trap occurs, post the XML message to the IncidentMonitor URL and the service request will be automatically created. You can go into the IncidentMonitor application and define what actions you wish to perform when a request is created. Actions such as send a page, send a message to their cell phone, send an E-mail to their wireless device or main E-mail box.

In addition to the XML interface we also provide the complete COM object interface to our system. If the SNMP platform is capable of using COM you can simply instantiate our COM objects and create the request this way. This method provides you with complete programmatic control over the interchange.

As well, you could simply send an E-message to a specific E-mail address that you have setup to create the service request and notify the assigned people.
