Hi,
I recently want to start work in helpdesk, and i was wondering if anyone can discuss what they did in a normal helpdesk day (work wise) so i can get a vague idea of some of the things involved in helpdesk work.

Thanks alot

well, helpdesks vary from place to place, but basically a helpdesk analyst figures out what the actual need of the customer is and resolves it. It can be anything as simple as,"How do I change the font in Word?" to "Every time I press print, nothing happens"

Volume is the biggest issue, some helpdesks the analysts take 100+ calls per day, others can take only 10 calls per day.

There are lots of books about helpdesks now that you can peruse thru at B&N to see if it's something that you want to do.
