I know this is a dumb question but can someone explain to me the difference between Level 1, Level 2 etc support??

The difference in levels depends on the company defining the levels. Some examples might be ...

Level 1 support might be solved by junior helpdesk technician
Level 2 support might be solved by 'the expert'

or levels could reflect response times...

Level 1 support might be a reponse time of 24 hours
Level 2 support might be a reponse time of 1 week
